Further information
- Students in Bangor stay in the university halls which are en-suite, having rooms with private shower and toilet. All en-suite Halls of Residence offer network access from individual study-bedrooms. The site has a wide range of facilities, including a launderette and a computer room. Wireless internet facilities are available at the Coffee Shop.
- Maes Glas, the University’s main sports and recreation centre, has recently been extended and upgraded with a National Lottery grant and has two main sports halls, three well-equipped rooms for cardiovascular exercise and weights training, a gymnasium, a climbing wall with two ascents of different difficulties and a bouldering wall, plus four squash courts. There are grass pitches for soccer and rugby, a new synthetic grass pitch for hockey and training, and a modern athletics track and field sports facility shared with Gwynedd Council.
- Bangor cares about its students - so much so that Bangor University tops the 'Most helpful administration' category in a major UK-wide survey of 10,000 students.
The Students’ Union at Bangor is the ideal setting to relax, get involved in activities and make new friends. The building is conveniently located between the “student village” of Upper Bangor and the city centre and just a short walk from the halls. During the day the bars and cafes are the places to go for a bite to eat or a hard earned drink. The Students Union's Time nightclub provides much of the focus on the entertainment front. Recent events have included performers such as Goldie Looking Chain, Tim Westwood, Trevor Nelson, Girls Aloud and Lemar.
